Oracle Virtualization Certification
Oracle Virtualization Certification is covered by Oracle Linux Certification
Oracle Virtualization provides an open source, high performance, zero licensing cost alternative to proprietary server virtualization solutions.
The two most important Oracle Virtualization components are the Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (management) and the Oracle Linux KVM hypervisor (compute host).
-
Oracle
Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) is a complete and fully supported open-source solution that provides a simple GUI to configure, monitor, and manage Oracle Virtualization environments—whether you are managing a few hosts having a few VMs, or many hosts and clusters having thousands of VMs.
-
Oracle Linux KVM, the Kernel-based Virtualization Machines (KVM) component of Oracle Linux, is a open-source hypervisor for Intel, AMD and ARM servers.
Oracle Linux KVM is supported in multi-host configurations managed by OLVM (table 1) and in standalone configurations (table 2). Please refer to these tables to determine the minimum operating system requirements for compute hosts in each environment.
All servers on the Server Systems tab that meet the minimum requirements below are also certified to support Oracle Linux KVM in Oracle Virtualization environments.

No Requirement for Storage Certification with Oracle Linux KVM
There are no certification requirements for storage hardware systems in Oracle
Virtualization environments. Oracle Linux KVM uses kernel interfaces to communicate with storage
hardware systems, eliminating any dependency on an application programming interface
(API).
Oracle Virtualization supports storage arrays with standard protocols like iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Network File Storage and 3rd party software defined storage solutions.
